Kaziranga National Park is Set to Reopen on 1st October 2024 for Tourists

Home of the Great Indian Rhinoceroses, Kaziranga National Park, is set to open its gates for the 2024-25 wildlife tourism season on the 1st of October. According to the official announcement made by the Eastern Assam Wildlife Division, Kaziranga National Park will commence wildlife safaris inside the park from the first day of October. After a long monsoon break of four months, Kaziranga National Park is going to open its gates for Jungle Safari. The park annually closes at the onset of monsoon season, as it brings heavy rainfall, flooding, and unfavourable safari conditions. However, the park is still recovering from the aftermath of the yearly monsoon season, nevertheless, will be ready to serve in three weeks. Kaziranga National Park is an oasis of wilderness, and one of the most loved wildlife destinations in India. The park is significantly popular for being home to the Big Five; great Indian one-horned rhinoceros, royal Bengal tiger, Asian elephant, wild water buffalo, and swamp deer. In fact, nearly 70% of Indian rhinos and over a hundred Bengal tigers live in the forest of Kaziranga. After the announcement of Kaziranga National Park’s Opening Date for 2024, Sonali Ghosh, the field director of Kaziranga National Park, stated that following the park’s post-monsoon restoration, the forest authority is more focused on enhancing the experience and safety of the visitors in the Park. Initially, only three regions of Kaziranga, including the south-central or Kohara region, the western or Bagori region, and the Burapahar region, will be opened up. The timing and the shifts of the Kaziranga tiger safaris this year will be no different than every year, i.e. 7:30 onwards in the morning and 1:30 onwards in the afternoon. The news of Kaziranga National Park's opening will bring smiles to the faces of wildlife lovers who have long been waiting to explore the thrilling wildlife safari at Kaziranga Tiger Reserve. So, get ready and plan your wildlife holiday to Assam in advance.
